about lake michigan book press
Lake Michigan Book Press first opened in 2014 at the Park Trades Center in downtown Kalamazoo, Michigan and is now based out of a home studio. Every sketchbook is handmade-to-order by me, Crystal Shaulis, former Intern Manager and book arts instructor at the Kalamazoo Book Arts Center. Here, I taught incoming interns and students the art of papermaking, bookbinding, letterpress and marbling. My artist books have been on exhibit at the Kalamazoo Institute of Arts, University of Nebraska and the Muskegon Museum of Art.
